“Play Dead” Stay And I’ll beg At your feet fool for the heel of your steady gate Waiting I’m fine innocent and lonely Lips full and lion eyed the weight you move and hide and hide Can you run home? It’s silent. I’m still waiting for our high careen. We’re given one heart I’m so in love Sold my love and soul to you. Can you clean up the stains in the hallway? Your warm breaths rise and fall beside me in my dreams. Can I run, run away at your side Away form these empty rooms? (can we walk outside? like we’ve walked outside collecting the bones we find all these skeletons in piles) Stay. - F. James Bardozi & Ramona Fields

Horses 03:35
I never asked to be part of this fool's errand life We meet the world in violence and our first words are cries From the four walls of the cradle to the tiny wooden horses We ride We ride I never longed for anyone in my whole life Except the girl on my neighbor's arms, the one I'd make my wife Laughing, languished, lovers' language On the summer's stolen horses We ride We ride I can't recall anyone in my whole life Though ancient actors take the dusty stage from time to time All their makeup is faded On the autumn's tired horses They ride They ride I'll never mourn for anyone in my whole life They all served their purposes They all did their time In the four walls of the pine box To the Pale Horse of forever They ride We ride Original lyrics by Christopher Ryba-Tures. Founded in 2010, Powderhorn Cranes is an experimental collaborative lo-fi studio project based in Saint Paul, MN. The foundational member F. James Bardozi, a veteran Twin Cities multi-instrumentalist, operates as project engineer in his low-tech makeshift home studiowith a 4-track and a computer that's over a decade old.

The identities of the slow-building number of members - including singers, musicians, poets, authors and visual artists from around the nation - are kept anonymous, each member favoring an alias.

The sound focuses on texture and amateur/crude recording techniques, and most flaws are kept in the mixes. Keyboards and computer effects are used minimally in favor of no-frills beat sequencing, manually manipulated stringed instruments and stompboxes.
